Genetically engineered foods (GMOs) are those altered at the molecular level in ways that could not happen naturally. Plants and animals get their genetic makeup altered to exhibit traits that are not naturally their own.
"My primary concern is Americans are not given the opportunity to make an informed choice. The freedom of choice is something I advocate for. People don't like to be told what to eat or what to feed their families. Being able to make an informed choice is the right of Americans," said Robyn O'Brien, researcher and food industry analyst.
